One of the things GOD has been teaching me here in Africa is how to dance for HIS name.  I have never danced well, but I enjoy it.  I’m very self-conscious about my dancing, but when you are dancing for the LORD you have to get over that, especially when they call you out in church to dance in front of everyone.  There is a boy at Ithemba who I love to watch dance.  On Sunday mornings he copies everything that the adults do and adds his own flavour.  When I watch him dance I have to praise GOD.  Why is it that kids understand better than adults what it looks like to praise GOD?  David knew how to praise GOD with dancing and singing and whatever good things he could come up with.  So just dance.  Pray with movement.  Let go of your comforts and praise the LORD with all of you.  HE deserves nothing less.

Psalm 150
  1 Praise the LORD.
       Praise God in his sanctuary;
       praise him in his mighty heavens.

    2 Praise him for his acts of power;
       praise him for his surpassing greatness.

    3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
       praise him with the harp and lyre,

    4 praise him with tambourine and dancing,
       praise him with the strings and flute,

    5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
       praise him with resounding cymbals.

    6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
       Praise the LORD.

  1. I have a plaque given to me by a friend that says “Sing like there’s nobody listening” that reminds me of the same thing, Sarah. When we are praising God, we should feel free to be authentic in our praise – even if we will never win on American Idol.

    By the way, your blog is very timely as the youth showed us that very lesson on Youth Sunday this past Sunday.

    We are praying for you all!

    Blessings,
